Since mechanical drives were invented there has been a need
to couple driving parts together, so the range of couplings
available is reflected in this. There are a variety of flexible
and rigid couplings, the most widely used being the flexible
coupling, which has the ability to be able to compensate for
a small amount of mis-alignment. The photograph above shows
examples of the most popular couplings that we supply, but we
also supply many special and non-standard items. Couplings are
normally bored and keyed to suit the shafts that the hubs are
being fitted to, or they use standard tapered
bushes in a similar manner to taper bored pulleys
and sprockets.
