PTFE Lined Split Steel otherwise known as Glacier is a high performance bearing material. There are many types of Glacier bushes such as the ‘DX’ & ‘DU’ type.
Glacier DU type bushes are a dry bearing material with good wear and friction performance over a wide range of temperatures, loads and speeds. DU bushes have a common structure, consisting of a metal backing with a PTFE lining. DU bushes also perform well with lubrication. Glacier DU bushes can be used in construction machinery, agricultural machinery and so on. DU type Glacier bushes are suitable for applications where there are rotation and sliding movements.
Glacier DX type bushes are a marginally lubricated bearing material for grease or oil lubricated applications. DX bushes consist of a metal backing with a PTFE lining. Standard parts contain grease indents in the sliding layer. DX bushes are used in different kinds of equipment such as automotive, pneumatic, medical etc.
Glacier bushes are able to operate without lubrication, give a low wear rate and a high load capacity. They also have a large operating temperature from -200ºC up to 280ºC.
